Google Announces Cookies to ‘Auto-Delete’ in 2 Years

Search engine giant, Google, has announced that its cookies will delete themselves within two years, in an effort to protect Google users’ privacy. The lifespan of the cookies, though, will re-set when the user visits a Google web site.

Google services install cookies on a surfer’s computer so that their Web sites can be shown in the user’s native language, or the language of the country the user is utilising Google in. Currently, Google cookies will delete in 2039.

In the statement, Google also points out that cookies can be deleted manually at any time.
