You pick a book up at a store and the device can search and display reader reviews and ratings. You can make the familiar gesture that cinematographers and photographers do–of making a frame with both your hands–and click a photograph. Mistry (and his mentor Pattie Maes of the MIT Media Lab) demonstrated the “sixth sense” last month at T.E.D. Watch the video to see just how amazing this new technology is. True, it’s still some way off from becoming a commercial launch, but “sixth sense” can change the way we live and seek out information or even entertainment.
This demo -- from Pattie Maes' lab at MIT, spearheaded by Pranav Mistry -- was the buzz of TED. It's a wearable device with a projector that paves the way for profound interaction with our environment. Imagine "Minority Report" and then some.
Pranav Mistry is the genius behind Sixth Sense, a wearable device that enables new interactions between the real world and the world of data.

Nanolution, One lakh Mantra, Tata NANO on the road and comics
A politician is worried because of a new demand made by men- “Parking reservations for poor people!”

You’ll never ever be stuck in a traffic jam, thanks to Nano’s style and design.

In a toy shop, a boy tells his father that he doesn’t want the toy car. He wants a real car like Tata Nano.

An advisor tells a politician ” Television etc. are old things…now tell people that you’ll give them a new car”. The old saying “Food, Clothes and House” should be extended to “Food, Clothes, House and Car”.

Inside a car showroom- a simple man has enough money to book not one, but TWO Nanos!

A man goes to a car show room and wonders if he can exchange his two wheeler for a Tata Nano car

Beggars get more freedom with their new found mobility, thanks to Tata Nano.

A wife tells her husband, “These days, our maid has a new excuse- I got late because the car tire got punctured!”

People driving “People’s Car” ask for “People’s petrol” at gas stations!

Even an ordinary man staying in a small house has a Tata Nano, even though his house might not be centrally heated!

Building the World's Cheapest Car

And that’s the Nanolution, One Lakh Mantra

AS PER the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1969 Act, in Section 49-O that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked, and convey to the presiding election officer that he/she doesn’t want to vote for anyone! Yes, such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. It is called "49-O".
49-O: The voter (or elector) deciding not to vote:
If an elector, after his electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark.
If you think none of the candidates at the ward / constituency are able enough to lead the community, you can always opt not to vote, but if you will use this right of yours you may start a new things in our electoral process, which will further strengthen our democracy.
Disqualification hoax
A hoax has been circulating which claims that if the '49-O' votes more than those of the winning candidate, then that poll will be canceled and will have to be re-polled. Furthermore, it claims that the contestants will be banned and they cannot contest the re-polling for their life time. This is false and has no basis whatsoever. Wikipedia

Sometimes I regret sending a message the morning after. Other times I send a message and then immediately notice a mistake. I forget to attach a file or email the birthday girl that I can't make her surprise party. I can rush to close my browser or unplug the Internet — but Gmail almost always wins that race.

Credit card: What is it?
A credit card is part of a system of payments named after the small plastic card issued to users of the system. It is a card entitling its holder to buy goods and services based on the holders promise to pay for these goods and services. The issuer of the card grants a line of credit to the consumer (or the user) from which the user can borrow money for payment to a merchant or as a cash advance to the user.
How does it work?
After you or the cashier swipes your credit card through a reader, the EDC software at the point-of-sale (POS) terminal of the establishment that you are using your credit card at dials a stored telephone number (using a modem) to call an acquirer. An acquirer is an organization that collects credit-authentication requests from merchants and provides the merchants with a payment guarantee. Put simply, the card is swiped at the establishment>the bank or financial institution is contacted>authenticity is established>payment is approved>receipt is received.
The Pros and Cons
Pros
Cons
The Charges
Dos and Don't s
Dos | Don'ts |
Make wise decisions about purchasing items you need versus those you simply want. It is important to distinguish between the two. | Use your credit card to make everyday purchases like food, clothing, and petrol. Using your credit card as a substitute for cash will land you in unnecessary debt. |
Pay on time, within the due date. Consecutive missed payments will make you defaulter and result in a poor credit score. | Get into the habit of making minimum-only payments. Making only the minimum payment each month increases the amount of time it will take to pay off your debt. |
Stay within 30% of your credit limit. | Use your credit card to buy things you can't afford. |
Read your credit card statement carefully. | Withdraw cash from an ATM using your credit card. Not only will you be charged a withdrawal fee, but the interest will levied from the moment the cash is withdrawn |
NEW IPHONE OS 3.0 FEATURES
The new iPhone OS 3.0 adds over 100 new features including—at friggin' last—cut and paste.
• Copy & Paste text. When you double-tap over text, you will get a "cut, copy, and paste" bubble dialog. Double-tap again and a "paste" bubble will appear if there's anything stored in your clipboard.
This works across applications. You can expand your selection points using your thumbs and, if you accidentally paste something you didn't want to paste, just shake your iPhone to undo it.
• Copy & Paste photos. You can also copy and paste photos. Now you will be able to select multiple photos by tapping the action button, copy some of them, and paste them in an email, ready to send.
• New Spotlight. iPhone OS 3.0 will allow you to search across the entire information contained in your device, no matter where, as soon as the information is supported it. If an application is written to support the new Spotlight, its data will also be available in the search.
In this screenshot you can see Spotlight bringing results from your address book, maps, your iPod, and apps in your springboard.
• Search in Mail, Calendar, and iPod. These Apple applications have specific search interfaces. The search in Mail doesn't support the message content yet, but it supports searching in IMAP servers—that will save a lot of time logging into Gmail.
• 3G Tethering. This feature will allow you to connect your iPhone 3G to a laptop, to use it as a modem to access the internet. Carriers still have to sign-off on it, and probably charge more for it. None have announced it yet.
• Landscape keyboard. Apple has added the landscape keyboard mode to other applications, like Mail, SMS, and Notes.
• Multimedia messaging. A big one to send rich content to people without mail-enabled telephones: The new MMS function will allow you to include everything, from images to sound to vcards (no word on video, however.) Personally, I find these usesless having email, but some people seem to want it.
• Support for new calendar types. In iPhone OS 3.0 you will be able to subscribe to calendars on the web using two protocols: CalDAV—supported by Google and Yahoo—and subscriptions via the .ics format—which is what Apple uses in iCal.
• Improved stocks application. The stocks application now allows you to read related news, so you can enjoy yourself learning about the latest market scandals, stock crashes, and executives getting bonus packages from government aid while their companies sink into hell. Thank you, Apple.
• Stereo Bluetooth A2DP audio. You will be able to pair your iPhone 3.0 with a stereo Bluetooth A2DP device, like headphones or speakers.
• Note syncing with iTunes.
• Automatic login in Safari. The new version of Safari will remember login credentials, so you won't need to introduce your username and password again while accessing Scoreland your work intranet.
• Shake to shuffle music. If you are in your iPod application, you just need to shake it to start the shuffling mode. Hopefully this will be optional for sports people out there.
• Wi-Fi auto-login. In case you have a subscription to a paid hotspot, your iPhone or iPod touch will autolog into it.
• Anti-phishing. Mobile Safari now can warn you against malicious sites trying to scam you.
• Extended parental controls. Adult content filters can now be applied to movies, TV shows, and applications, in addition to web sites and music (porn apps, here we come).
NEW APPLE APPLICATIONS
Apple will include new widgets in the new version of the iPhone operating system:
• Voice memo application. Obviously, allows you to record voice or any other sound, so you don't forget any idea or want to play FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper.
• Send and receive files. A dedicated application to exchange files between iPhones or iPods touch.
NEW THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS FEATURES IN IPHONE OS 3.0
The new iPhone OS 3.0 adds 1,000 new APIs to extend the capabilities of new applications.
• Peer-to-peer Wi-Fi Bluetooth connectivity. A new API will allow for two iPhones to connect directly—peer-to-peer—via Bluetooth Wi-Fi, without needing any Wi-Fi network.
They will be able to discover each other using Bluetooth, and then start a Wi-Fi connection transparently.
This opens a lot of possibilities. I doubt they will allow you to pass music, but you would probably be able to pass any other information, as well as directly communicating between applications in the two devices. One example: A pets game that allows two dogs to play with each other.
This feature could be combined with push notification, so your iPhone may receive a note from another iPhone, inviting you to play a game one-on-one.
• Browse remote content. While the built-in iPod application doesn't allow you to browse songs in other people's iPhones or iPod touch, third-party applications will allow you to do that, according to Apple's Forstall.
• Use your iPhone/touch to control peripherals. A new API will let you use your iPhone or iPod touch as a control to your accessories. In this example, the iPhone is being used to equalize the sound in a loudspeaker.
However, the applications are endless. Johnson and Johnson is releasing LifeScan, an app that connects to a glucose monitoring device. The application can even alert other people automatically, in case something is wrong.
• Maps inside other applications. New applications will be able to use Maps directly, which is now an API.
• Turn-by-turn directions. Developers will also be able to create turn-by-turn applications using the GPS information from the iPhone and combining it with their own maps, without depending on 3G connectivity or Google.
• Push notification finally coming. Hopefully this time it will be true. Push notification means that your iPhone OS 3.0 applications will finally be able to receive messages from the intarwebs automagically, so you can have an Instant Message application and have your iPhone vibrate or make a sound when a new message comes in, even if the application is not running.
• Voice communication in applications. iPhone 3.0 applications will also be able to access a Voice over IP service. This means that you will be able to chat with other users while playing against them in a game, for example. This won't use the telephone, but the internet over a Wi-Fi connection.
• Rumbling. Games—or any other application—will also be able to rumble, like your console joystick.
• Audio recording. Audio recording will also be possible from third-party applications using a standardized API, instead of custom workarounds.
• Access your music from applications. Future applications will also be able to access the iPhone/iPod music library. This means that applications will be able to play your own music while they run.
NEW FEATURES IN THE APP STORE
The new OS will also offer an enhanced App Store, opening new possibilities for developers and consumers.
• Subcriptions to apps.
• Purchase additional content for apps, like new cities for a city guide application.
• Purchase additional levels for games.
Basically, this will allow developers to sell more things on top of their apps, and to consumers to expand their experience with those apps.
• This will work straight from the applications, so you can purchase new things through the software itself, even while it still goes through the App Store internally.
PRICE
iPhone OS 3.0 will be a free upgrade to all iPhone users, including the first generation (not all features will be supported in the first generation, like Stereo Bluetooth support). iPod touch users will be able to but it for $9.95.
If you dare, you can sign up for the beta here.

The new application improves the way you use your phone. You can get transcripts of your voicemail (see the video below) and archive and search all of the SMS text messages you send and receive. You can also use the service to make low-priced international calls and easily access Goog-411 directory assistance.
Apple event will highlight iPhone OS 3.0

As usual, the whole thing is rather cryptic. From the "blueprint" graphic and text, it sounds like the event will be limited to an overview (but not a release) of iPhone OS 3.0. Perhaps we'll learn a bit about any changes to the SDK as well.
What would you like to see? Copy and paste, for sure. Push notifications for 3rd party apps next. Anything else?
Finally, we don't know who will be doing the talking. Typically, we just assumed it would be Steve.

8 Things iPhone OS 3.0 Needs
8.) Cut and paste. This is painfully obvious. Cut and paste is a core Apple feature, all the way back to the first Mac, and it's something everyone expects in text editing.
7.) MMS support. No one has ever been able to explain why Apple disdains picture messaging. MMS support is a no-brainer.
6.) A shared sandbox. iPhone apps each run in their own little data space, which is great for security but awful for apps that want to work on the same data (like an office program trying to read e-mail attachments.) Apple needs to build a shared data area that apps can drop "public" files into.
5.) Some background functionality. Maybe it's push notifications, like Apple promised a year ago. Maybe it's true background tasks. In any case, it's absolutely silly that instant messaging apps, Twitter apps, and such have no way of telling you that you have new messages while you're doing something else.
4.) Wireless stereo. Steve Jobs rightfully disdains Bluetooth stereo audio because it generally sounds awful. But there have been a lot of innovations in wireless stereo recently, and whatever technology Apple chooses to bless would instantly become the leader. Whether Apple goes with Kleer, one of the new lossless Bluetooth stereo codecs or something totally new, it's time to free us from the tangle of headset cords.
3.) Better power management. The iPhone burns through battery because it's used more heavily, and in more different ways, than any other device. That means many iPhone owners feel their phones have relatively short battery life. Since Apple will never allow a replaceable battery, let's suggest some smarter power-management software to keep the phone going for longer on a charge.
2.) Better home screen customization. Let's be able to throw away the default icons, like that stupid stock widget. And let's be able to fully theme our iPhones, the way the illicit WinterBoard program lets hackers do.
1.) Video recording (and a better photo app). We know the iPhone can record video, because various people have hacked its software to do so. Time for that feature to become official. Also, would it hurt the photo app to have a settings panel, for folks who want to be able to play with things like picture resolution and night-shot mode? And the home button should be the shutter. UPDATE
WriteOnIt : This is absolutely a fun site to check out. It allows you to include your image on posters, magazine covers (with your own head - like the one above) and other photomontages. Also, there is no need for a registration.
Hairmixer : This site allows you to swap faces and hair. It has an option for you to upload your own photos or use the ones available online too.
Kyolo : This is a pretty basic site. In it, it only allows you to add text balloons to images. This can be useful at times when you want to make fun of your pals. Also you need to register.
PhotoFunia : The best site I must say!! Kinda different website which allows you to place the image you upload into an integrated picture. The final work can be easily downloaded or created as an avatar without registering.
FunPhotoBox : Very similar to the above website, but with other effects, and new listings every week. It also has a great feature to allow you to select the area of the photo you want to show. Also, no registration is required.
Ransom Note Generator : This website creates a text composed of letters cut from a magazine. You can place any image as a wallpaper and see the fun around your desk. No registration is required.
BigHugeLabs : This website offers many options. You can easily add text balloons, motivational posters, "warholizar" your photo, given to, and so on. It has a wide range of possibilities, but requires registration.

AutoMotivator : You know those posters that are in some offices with motivational phrases supposedly? Here you can do the same. Of course, it's more fun to parody them. Lets you save the image on your computer or directly to Flickr or ImageShack (which is very cool). This site is part of a larger one called Wigflip, which give you other options to create graphics for your website with your own text, like post-it or labels. No registration required.
Start slow.
Set realistic goals.
Do a total of 50 repetitions of abs exercises daily for the first week, then add 10 repetitions per week until 200 - 300 repetions are achieved.
You must reduce calorie intake if you wish to see your abs. You can do abs workouts and ab routines and you will never see your 6 pack if you eat excessive quantities of junk food.
To get ripped abs, aim to lose a half a pound of fat per week while by eating calorie-reduced diet.
Do not use a periodic lapse as an excuse to quit or allow other demands of life to distract you from your goal of having six pack abs.
Vary or cycle your workout routine/fitness training routine on a weekly or monthly basis to prevent boredom or staleness.

Coroflot, a job-listing site for designers, has published the results of its 2008 salary survey. It confirms, once again, that design is pretty good work if you can get it. Top flight graphic designers, interaction designers, and industrial designers can all earn well-over $500,000 a year, with your average experienced designer easily clearing $75,000. But design in general is a tough field to break into, with entry salaries as low as $15,000 (though average entry-level jobs pay twice that).
A couple of other trends emerged. Salaries for almost all design disciplines have kept pace with inflation, but the one discipline that has outpaced inflation is interaction design--buoyed by the proliferation of mobile devices. Design management has also posted salary gains, which Coroflot chalks up to a recent management vogue towards "design thinking." Check out the full results on Coroflot, which also has a searchable database that allows you to compare your salary to that of your regional peers
